An Update from the CGI Advantage Steering Committee
This is an exciting time for the CGI Steering Committee where after months of talking to sites on their needs as well as dozens of meetings involving the review of concept papers, design documents and user-initiated enhancement requests, CGI will be officially releasing the CGI Advantage Release 3.10 at the end of July. Release 3.10 includes many significant enhancements and improvements to the various modules of CGI Advantage.
Some of the major improvements include the addition of modules for Case Management and Permitting, upgrades to the Employee Self Service module, and expansion to mobile devices including the iPad and iOS and Android phones. There are so many significant improvements in CGI Advantage 3.10 that CGI will be offering webinars to demonstrate and provide details of the improvements to users. We encourage you to participate in these presentations to see these improvements for yourself.
With the release of CGI Advantage 3.10, this means that the Steering Committee will now get busy with reviewing and planning for the development of version 3.11. Enhancement requests will continue to be reviewed and the Steering Committee encourages all sites to submit enhancement requests as well as submit their own customizations to be considered for baseline. This is how the CGI Advantage product continues to improve and provide greater value to sites and users.
Users are also strongly encouraged to participate in our monthly and bi-monthly discussion groups to talk about various topics that can range from technical issues to enhancement requests to suggestions for new sites that are getting started. It gives users the opportunity to chime in on topics that directly affect their operations and the chance to hear how other sites come up with ideas on improving their systems. These discussion group meetings are a great way of asking questions and learning from others’ experiences.
We would also like to welcome new Steering Committee members: Tasha Burkett, City of Roanoke; Idalia Ow, County of Monterey; Dharmesh Patel, State of Iowa; and Angela Schlemeyer, City of Midland. We would also like to express our thanks to: Lori McClannahan, State of Iowa; Mason Campbell, City of Roanoke; Karlin Rossi, Oakland Intermediate School District; and Joan Shea, Commonwealth of Massachusetts for their past time and service as Steering Committee members. Your time and contributions to the committee was invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Join us in the monthly discussion group meetings and post your questions, comments and responses on the Discussion Gateway. We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you in Orlando!
