An Update from the CGI Advantage Steering Committee Chair

I hope the forum attendees had a great time at CGI Forum 2012 and gained useful information to better utilize the Advantage Product at your site.  We had nearly 300 user attendees and held almost 70 educational sessions.  The feedback I received was very positive and everyone was excited about meeting our peers face-to-face again. 

While this year's experiences are still fresh in our minds, CGI has requested input into next year's CGI Forum in Orlando, FL.  Please take the opportunity to provide the Steering Committee feedback.  Tell us what you liked, disliked, and if we missed sessions that you think would have been beneficial.  The Steering Committee is going to begin discussing the content for next year's Forum with CGI at our meeting in December and we are always looking for new ideas.

For those who did not have an opportunity to attend the CGI Forum this year, I want to highlight the emphasis we placed on improved communications with our user community and the planned new process regarding "Fast Tracked Enhancement Requests".

We encouraged all users to utilize the Discussion Gateway and participate in the regular Discussion Groups.  We will be using the Discussion Groups to provide more input to the Steering Committee on our review of enhancement requests.  In the near future you will be receiving information on a new Enhancement Request Form which will provide more detail to assist the Steering Committee on understanding business impact and setting priorities. 
Also, the Steering Committee has worked with CGI to develop a new process for fast tracking small enhancement requests that improve existing functionality and can be released in fix-packs rather than waiting for a minor product release.

Steering Committee elections are complete. Congratulations to the four new Steering Committee members and we look forward to their joining the Board in January.

Overall, it has been a productive year for our user community with more interaction through Discussion and Focus Groups, many sites upgrading to newer releases of Advantage and CGI returning to an on-site Forum.  I'm looking forward to the enhancements planned for next year on case management and mobile applications and it continues to be a pleasure working with everyone on improvements to the Advantage product.
