THE NEWS INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR

Fall 2012 | VOLUME 24

Executive Update

Letter from Vice President, CGI Advantage Program

Daniel Keene

It has been a busy and fantastic season for the CGI Advantage program.  With the return of the in-person CGI Forum, continued enhancements to our CGI Advantage product, and many successful client implementations, the program continues to grow and strengthen.

I am honored to announce CGI Advantage has received two 2012 "Best Fit Integrator" awards from the Center for Digital Government (CDG). The awards recognize technology firms nominated by their public sector clients for tailoring solutions to the unique needs of government.  This year, CGI was nominated by the State of Maine and the City of Los Angeles for financial and administration system performance and modernization awards, respectively.  This is the fifth year CGI has been recognized as a top integrator by its CGI Advantage clients and the CDG.

CGI Forum 2012

CGI Forum 2012 was an extremely successful education, collaboration, and community event for the CGI Advantage user community.  The numbers tell the story with 278 clients and 17 sponsors attending this event to collectively share experiences and best practices with peers and experts from across the country - live and in person.  Presentations from the incredible CGI Forum 2012 educational sessions are now available on the Advantage Support Center.

After attending the CGI Forum 2012, I am energized and inspired by not only the best State and Local ERP product in the market, but also knowing that we have the best client partners to collaborate, share, and drive product direction.  CGI Advantage truly is more than a product – we are a community and the CGI Forum 2012 was reflective of that community.

Please mark your calendars for the next CGI Forum scheduled October 27-29, 2013 at the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Product Enhancements

We continue to make progress on our next release, Release 3.10, which includes Debt Management, Employee Relations, Enhanced Capital Budgeting, and Financial/HRM Executive Dashboard enhancements.  We are also finalizing plans for Release 3.11 which is based upon direct feedback from the CGI Advantage community.  An updated product roadmap outlining the upcoming CGI Advantage releases can be found in the Advantage Support Center.

As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, we are collaborating within CGI to bring other best of breed CGI IP to the Advantage solution.  Three new complementary solutions were well received at the CGI Forum 2012 and are further highlighted in this newsletter:

Market Growth

We are very pleased to recognize our new and renewed members to the CGI Advantage client community:

  • State of Colorado: 12 year contract for CGI to host, operate, and upgrade CGI Advantage
  • City of Tucson:10 year contract for CGI to host, operate, and upgrade CGI Advantage
  • City of Norfolk: 11 year contract for CGI to host, operate, and upgrade CGI Advantage

In addition, CGI and our CGI Advantage community have worked together to complete many successful projects.  In fact, together we have successfully completed 26 implementations and upgrades of CGI Advantage in 2012!

CGI is also growing.  With the recent acquisition of Logica, CGI has demonstrated we are a strong, financially stable and growing company that continues to grow as a world-class IT and business process services leader.  CGI now has an increased scale to deliver a broad range of consulting, systems integration and outsourcing services that provide innovative and flexible solutions to best meet client business needs.

Steering Committee elections are complete and four new members will be joining the Steering Committee on January 1, 2013. We would like to thank the following departing members for all their great support of the CGI Advantage program:

  • Joan Shea, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Lori McClannahan, State of Iowa
  • Mason Campbell, City of Roanoke
  • Karlin Rossi; Oakland Intermediate School District

Thank you for your continued support,

Daniel Keene
