RÉJEAN BERNARD - Senior Vice-President, Global Infrastructure Services, Canada business unit

Réjean Bernard is senior vice-president of CGI’s Global Infrastructure Services, Canada business unit, overseeing the delivery of infrastructure services across the country.

Until recently, he held the position of senior vice-president, infrastructure services, solutions and consulting at CGI, managing an international team of more than 3,000 professionals and a budget of some $600 million. His responsibilities included the planning and supervision of global infrastructure delivery services and the development of new CGI business solutions.

Réjean’s career with CGI began in 1985, when he joined the company as a senior telecommunications consultant. In 1991, he chose to expand his area of expertise, moving on to work as a director and consultant for such prestigious organizations as Université du Québec, Bombardier, DMR-Fujitsu and CRIM. Upon returning to CGI in 1998, Réjean served as vice-president of a number of business units, overseeing business development, operational activities and service delivery. In 2004 and 2005, he implemented a turnaround strategy that restored profitability to CGI operations in France.

Réjean went on to be named vice-president and CIO of CGI, responsible for the development and implementation of CGI information technology and communications solutions and their deployment on a worldwide scale. During his tenure as CIO, he oversaw a major transformation of the company’s technological environments, the global standardization of solutions, and the deployment of a consolidated architecture to support all CGI business units.

Réjean holds an engineering degree from École Polytechnique de Montréal and an MBA from HEC Montréal. He sat on the boards of CANARIE (Canadian Network for the Advancement of Research, Industry and Education), RISQ (Réseau d’information scientifique du Québec), Teamsoft Inc., Systemcorp A.L.G. Limited, and the International Institute of Telecommunications.
