Meet the members of CGI's management

CLAUDE MARCOUXChief Operating Officer, Canada

Claude Marcoux is head of Canadian operations at CGI, a global leader in information technology services. He has been with CGI since 1983.

Mr. Marcoux manages the company’s Canadian operations, a division that includes almost 12,300 members across the country. His teams offer the full range of CGI services to the company’s clientele in Canada and deliver services for Clients in Canada and outside the Country including Infrastructure and application management, consulting services, payroll, printing and outsourcing.

Mr. Marcoux, who was among the first students to earn a Bachelor of Business Computing at Université Laval in 1982, joined CGI in 1983. During his 15 years as a consultant, he helped computerize business processes in some 50 institutions in Quebec, throughout Canada, and abroad.

Between 1998 and 2008, he was responsible for the management of systems integration and consulting services in Quebec as well as for the management and growth of the Quebec City offices. Under his leadership, this business unit experienced annualized growth of 20%. He went on to manage the Greater Montreal business unit and all of the company’s activities across Quebec between 2008 and 2012. His team of 4,500 professionals provided systems integration, consulting, payroll, and outsourcing services. During this time, he also sat on the CGI Management and Investment Committees.

In the course of his 31-year career with CGI, Mr. Marcoux has worked in all areas of the company, from sales to service delivery to operations. In fact, his professional journey demonstrates the extent to which he embodies the CGI slogan, experience the commitment®.

From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Marcoux sat on the boards of directors of the Société de l’arthrite du Québec and Forces AVENIR. From 2008 to 2012, he was involved in campaigns for the Institut du cancer de Montréal, Fondation Jean-Michel Anctil, and Forces AVENIR. He has also participated in fundraising efforts for a number of charitable organizations. He co-chaired the fundraising campaign for the Fondation du Cégep Limoilou and was governor of the Fondation du Québec pour la recherche sur l’implant cochléaire.
