Diagnostic imaging

Enabling faster diagnoses and treatment

Designed to meet health system goals of reducing cost and improving efficiencies while maintaining outstanding patient care, CGI’s diagnostic imaging solution provides a secure, shared repository for storage, retrieval and viewing of diagnostic images (such as X-rays and MRIs) across multiple hospital sites. The solution helps hospitals reduce wait times and lengths of stay by allowing quicker accces to exam reports and more timely clinical decisions so patients get the care they need sooner.

CGI is designing, building and managing a shared diagnostic imaging repository solution for Ontario's largest Diagnostic Imaging repository (DI-r). DI-r will be operated by The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) West consortium and CGI. DI-r is a joint initiative of a University Health Network-led consortium of 20 healthcare facilities across five Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), representing approximately 39 sites in the GTA West and central Ontario.

Co-funded by Canada Health Infoway and eHealth Ontario, the GTA West DI-r is one of four shared diagnostic imaging repositories in Ontario and supports 3 million exams annually. It will benefit 1.5 million patients and 10,000 clinicians.
