DIR-SDD-1885 Main Contract

CGI IT Security Services

For over 35 years CGI has partnered with federal, state and local governments to deliver IT security solutions that protect the interests of their constituents. State and local governments are susceptible to many different threats. Under constant attack from cyber-crime organizations, cyber-extremists and insider threats, the government enterprise requires a dynamic defense that can adjust rapidly to emerging threats and deliver the uninterrupted IT support governments require to complete their missions. Our technical approach uses a proactive methodology to deliver integrated, full spectrum, Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense (CND/IA) support to our clients.

Security services for the unique needs of government

Beyond a simple network or system view, CGI provides our clients with deep security and IT know-how — including security strategy, infrastructure engineering, security operations, business continuity planning and all points in between — with services that are aligned as follows:

Foundation of capability

By design, all of CGI's services are delivered using ISO 9001-certified quality processes based on proven industry best practices including ITIL®, NIST and TAC202 and proven methodologies and frameworks such as the ISO27001 family and SANS Security Incident Handling.  CGI employs security professionals with the certifications, field accreditation and industry expertise (including SANS GIAC, ISC, CISSP and ISACA) required to provide our clients with the expertise and help they need when they need it—before the need is obvious to users or clients.

Always on the job

CGI members continuously monitor network defense sensors for real-time incident response. Our incident analysts, responders and auditors collect data regarding current threat attack profiles and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) for many government customers including U.S. Federal defense and civilian agencies.  Our fusion analysts mine this data to develop complete entity profiles and provide indications and warnings of potential threats. CGI analysts use attack trends and vectors identified by government incident response teams to more accurately simulate real-world threats against Texas government enterprises and to provide a realistic assessment of the clients' incident response (IR) procedures and network security posture.

Real-world training for real-world threats

All CGI Training programs comply with the training standards established by the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) and take advantage of the core curriculum products offered by U.S. Government agencies like the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as well as internal CGI CND/IA training courses. As part of our on the job training program, we conduct tabletop exercises to validate understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures. We develop and execute tabletop exercises to review, validate and propagate CND Response Actions. This ensures personnel fully understand policies and procedures when a real-world incident occurs.
