Sustainable transport and mobility
On route to a smaller carbon footprint
Transport and logistics operators are looking for innovative ways to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs. At the same time, the pressure is on to reduce their carbon footprint and environmental impact. CGI works closely with clients to implement sustainable transport and logistics systems and create new opportunities for sustainable supply chains, while at the same time improve efficiencies and save costs.
Our work helps clients improve network capacity management, minimize schedule delays and reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions. In addition, we collaborate with clients to change consumer behavior by, for example, encouraging the adoption of sustainable transport modes.
What we offer
CGI offers a range of sustainability and mobility services and solutions designed to reduce our clients’ carbon footprint and much more. Our offerings include the following:
- EMO driver monitoring: Monitors driver behavior and fuel use, and provides feedback to drivers and their fleet managers on how to reduce emissions.
- Chargepoint interactive management system (CIMS) for electric vehicles: A back-office system to manage access and billing for independent chargepoint operator networks.
- Supply chain traceability and logistics management: Improves fill rates and schedule adherence, reduces fuel and operating costs, and traces goods through the supply chain back to raw material suppliers.
- Traffic management and intelligent transport systems: Monitor and improve vehicle flow and safety, and reduce congestion and emissions.
Our experience
Highlights of our experience and success in driving sustainability for transport and logistics clients include the following:
- Regional implementation of Oracle Transport Management to optimize inbound logistics for global retailer; covers road, rail and shipping to improve fill rates, ensure on-time delivery, reduce logistics costs and contribute toward a 20% logistics emissions reduction target
- Behavior change programs for a major truck manufacturer using in-vehicle telematics and displays to monitor driver behavior and weekly challenges to improve performance, such as optimizing gear changes or braking; solution motivates driver behavior improvements by associating fuel efficient driving with driver excellence and recognition
- Rollout of EMO for a national driving association to provide driver monitoring and feedback and teach green driving behavior across a network of driving schools
- Nearly 30 implementations of our trip planner with government entities such as the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority and the Finnish Transport Agency
- Electric vehicle charge point management systems for the e-Laad and Green Charge networks in the Netherlands and Sweden, Stadtwerke Dusselfdorf and a major premium automotive manufacturer
