THE COMMERCE INSURANCE GROUP SIGNS CONTRACT WORTH CDN$4 MILLION FOR CHECKPOINT, CGI'S WEB-ENABLED AUTOMOBILE PRE-INSURANCE INSPECTION SOLUTION

The Commerce Insurance Group of Massachusetts and CGI today announced the renewal of a CDN$4 million three-year, maintenance and service contract, for Checkpoint®, CGI's web-enabled pre-insurance inspection solution.

During the Checkpoint process, information is recorded and pictures are taken to provide a detailed report of a vehicle's condition at the time it is insured. Vehicle identification numbers are scrutinized to make sure the vehicle is not stolen or involved in some form of fraudulent activity. From any computer, insurance companies can access the Checkpoint database and view the vehicle they have insured. One of CGI's competitive advantages is its strength in systems integration thus allowing for integration of the pre-insurance information directly into insurance companies' policy information systems.

The Commerce Insurance Group has been using the Checkpoint solution since 1991. "Using Checkpoint has helped us further streamline our system of data collection in order to process our insurance claims," said John V. "It provides us with a 99.8% accuracy rate which is vital to us and our credibility as a leader in the auto insurance field."

Checkpoint is offered in the states of Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Jersey as well as the Province of Ontario.
