CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced it has received a contract award for Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program services for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) which supports the department’s identification, correction, and prevention of improper Medicaid payments. The Ohio RAC program is a benefits-funded contract in which CGI will be paid from a portion of the improper payments recovered by ODJFS.

Under the contract, CGI will help ODJFS recover state and taxpayer dollars, protect the integrity of the Ohio Medicaid program, and comply with federal healthcare legislation. CGI will utilize its Customized Audit System (CAS), an enterprise-wide solution that helps predict, identify, manage, and analyze medical and pharmacy claims. The CGI solution includes provider outreach and education, appeals support, a data warehouse, and a web portal to ensure program transparency to the provider community.

“CGI is excited to build on our long-standing relationship with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services,” said Nola Haug, Vice-President, CGI State of Ohio account. “We look forward to partnering with the State to maximize its Medicaid recoveries and to protect the system from errors and fraud.”

“We are proud to be a leader in healthcare claims auditing and recovery for government-sponsored programs,” said Robert Rolf, Vice-President, CGI. “In addition to the Medicaid experience our team brings, we have experience with the local provider community. This results in our ability to deliver the best balance of local understanding with global best practices and expertise.”

With more than 450 employees in Ohio, CGI will support the project from its offices in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
