CGI AND MTA NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT SIGN FIVE-YEAR, US$16 MILLION CONTRACT RENEWAL

Fairfax, Virginia, November 16, 2006 -

CGI Group Inc. (CGI) (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced the signing of a five-year contract renewal valued at US$16 million to continue current operations of the Transit Adjudication Bureau (TAB) of MTA New York City Transit (NYC Transit ). The NYC Transit is the largest agency within the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The award builds on a successful partnership between NYC Transit and CGI that began in 1985.

CGI has been entrusted to provide all of the functions necessary to ensure the continued successful and streamlined operations of TAB, which processes Notices of Violation (or “TAB Summonses”) that New York City Police Department officers serve to violators of the NYC Transit’s “Rules of Conduct.” CGI is responsible for the timely and complete processing of an average of 150,000 summonses annually in a manner that protects the rights of citizens, eases access for them and provides maximum operational benefit to NYC Transit.

CGI operates TAB’s six major units: inquiry, payment processing, hearing support, collections, enforcement and administration. CGI also operates and maintains the state-of-the-art summons processing system it developed, and provides support for facilities management, operations and disaster recovery.

“TAB’s decision to continue its longstanding relationship with CGI is proof of our solid track record of high quality performance and client satisfaction,” said Donna Morea, President, CGI, US and India Operations. “This agreement also reaffirms our commitment to the City of New York to provide its citizens with the same level of quality service that we have delivered to TAB for over 20 years.”

New York City Transit is one of the most extensive and complex public transportation systems in the world, operating 24-hour-a-day bus and subway service throughout five boroughs. New York City Transit has more buses than any other public agency in North America and the largest subway car fleet anywhere.
