Driving efficiencies, reducing costs

Across all industry sectors, CGI has developed market-leading, cloud-based enterprise content management services which provides an effective flow that enables businesses to drive efficiencies and cost reductions in the electronic storage, handling and distribution of documents and data among multiple parties. In fact, we manage more than 92.5 million electronic and physical document transactions annually, including insurance documents between underwriters and brokers, customs documents between railway operators and border posts, and the distribution of 17 million invoices annually.

CGI operates the regulatory reporting and registration infrastructure and environments for all of the securities commissions across Canada. This includes processing of all public company and mutual fund filings and disclosure, insider trading reporting and broker-dealer registrations. Included as part our services under this contract user and billing services which include fully bilingual:

  • User account management, data and databases
  • Frontline user communication and interfacing; and
  • Billing, receivables, collections, payments processing and cash management.

We also deliver scanning and imaging services in multiple countries, notably in Sweden where we receive and scan high volume documents and enter the data into the companies’ ERP systems using OCR technology. We have a back-office team of 100 in the Philippines that verifies the accuracy of the OCR data entry in multiple languages.

In the financial services industry, our web enabled, cloud based checkpoint inspection services enable certified photos of second-hand cars to be taken at a network of locations and scanned through to insurers along with policy application documentation.

In addition, our large printing and finishing operations in Canada, Portugal, Sweden and the U.S. cover a wide range of outputs, such as classified government tender documents, bank and utility statements, insurance documents and pay slips. We work with latest technologies to personalize these documents where relevant. In each of these countries, we have a significant market share. In other countries, we deliver printing through a network of partners.

We offer our document and data services both stand-alone and also as an integral part of our other business process services.

In addition, we provide core mailroom services for the U.S. Department of Justice, where we accept, security screen and deliver inbound mail and pre-sort outbound mail.
