Earlier this month, CGI was featured in a special advertising section of Forbes: “High-Level Security: The new Cloud Computing Age offers companies a tailored approach to protecting and monitoring data.” The article discusses how concerns of cloud security typically “boil down to questions about competency, transparency and access.” These are similar to the concerns I cited hearing about during the Gartner Symposium. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Gartner Symposium ITxpo on CGI’s complete cloud approach. This is a great event to meet with senior IT leaders from all industries, such as healthcare, banking, education and all levels of the public sector, from federal civilian and defense agencies to state, provincial and local governments. As we’ve stated before, the top concern clients and prospects give us for moving to the cloud is security. I work with the insurance sector, and the insurance cloud and security topic is particularly acute given the amount of sensitive data that providers must protect.
