CGI-AMS Inc., the wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.SV.A; NYSE: GIB), announced today that its managed services contract with Arrow Electronics, Inc., a leading global provider of electronic components and computer products, has been extended through 2008. The scope of the engagement also has been expanded with additional CGI-AMS professionals collaborating with Arrow teams to provide increased support and improved customer service for Arrow end users. CGI and Arrow Electronics have been strategic partners in the area of application development and maintenance since 1997.
“At Arrow, we continually identify ways to be more efficient in servicing our company's needs,” said Robert Minicozzi, vice president, Applications Development, Arrow Electronics. “Working with CGI-AMS, we've implemented an onsite-offshore delivery model that enables us to continue to provide around-the-clock support for our employees in North America and Asia Pacific.”
The onsite-offshore delivery model allows US-based CGI-AMS resources to interface with Arrow project managers to better understand their business requirements and systems, and then share that knowledge internally with their colleagues in India. With CGI-AMS providing production support for off-hours, Arrow's technical staff is able to focus on more strategic activities.
