Fairfax, Virginia, October 18, 2012

The State of Colorado announced at a formal project kickoff event this week that it has selected CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, to modernize, host and manage the State’s financial, procurement and budgeting system. The State will upgrade to the web-based CGI Advantage™ ERP solution and transition operation of its current systems to the CGI Advantage cloud, operating in CGI’s secure data center. The total contract, contingent on future appropriations, is valued at US$78 million over 12 years.

Through its Managed Advantage program, CGI will also provide secure day-to-day operations management for the State’s primary financial system, including application maintenance, technical upgrades, disaster recovery services and client support. By transitioning to the CGI Advantage cloud platform, the State of Colorado will benefit from a more sustainable, reliable and efficient service through CGI’s provisioning and scaling of infrastructure and application environments required to run and maintain the system over its entire lifecycle. Additionally, updates and upgrades to the system are covered under a predictable, fixed price arrangement.

“The selection of CGI enables the State of Colorado to comprehensively address the current operations risks of our aging system while simultaneously upgrading to significantly improve business productivity and usability,” said Kathy Nesbitt, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration.

“By leveraging CGI’s cloud, we can achieve much needed technical enhancements to the system and a more predictable operating cost over time,” said Kristin Russell, Secretary of Technology and State Chief Information Officer, State of Colorado.

“State governments have very limited capital for investing in and maintaining new technologies,” said Dave Delgado, Senior Vice-President for CGI’s U.S. West business unit. “CGI is adept at bringing the right combination of people, process and technology to the table to enable our clients to tackle much needed modernization efforts while minimizing the impact on their operating budgets.”

“Our built-for-government CGI Advantage ERP cloud capabilities provide our clients with a higher level of service at a lower, and more predictable total cost of ownership than traditional self-managed delivery models,” said Daniel Keene, Vice-President of the CGI Advantage program. “We are thrilled to partner with the State of Colorado on this modernization effort.”
