Federal Trade Commission selects CGI to transition its public websites to the cloud
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has awarded CGI Federal Inc. (CGI), a wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a five-year, US$3.5 million contract to move its public websites to the cloud. The contract was awarded under the GSA Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) BPA, through which CGI is accredited to deliver certified, secure government cloud services.
CGI will deliver a public cloud solution for FTC’s public facing websites, including FTC.gov. CGI’s services will help streamline the migration, implementation, and testing and development support of the websites and associated applications.
“We look forward to establishing a new partnership with the FTC,” said Toni Townes-Whitley, Senior Vice-President for Civilian Agency Programs at CGI. “The demand for cloud continues to grow as agencies seek to implement affordable solutions that have increased security, provide more availability, and have better performance. CGI’s cloud solutions, including web hosting, document management and data center consolidation, are used by a range of federal agencies from the Department of Homeland Security to Environmental Protection Agency. Our proven experience, holistic cloud approach, and security accreditation are critical to delivering cloud solutions that work.”
CGI delivers cloud solutions for government and commercial enterprise clients. CGI’s advanced, secure federal cloud infrastructure ensures successful delivery of public and private cloud solutions. CGI is one of three companies awarded positions on both of GSA’s government-wide cloud BPAs.
