CGI powers up to deliver IT outsourcing services to TransGrid

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading IT and business services provider, announced today that it has signed a 3-year managed services contract with TransGrid.

TransGrid is the owner, operator and manager of the high-voltage electricity transmission system in New South Wales. Electricity is generated at power stations then transmitted by TransGrid's networks through more 12,800 kilometres of high voltage transmission lines and underground cables, along with 91 substations and switchyards.

TransGrid Managing Director, Peter McIntyre said that TransGrid was seeking a reliable and innovative IT partner.

CGI will manage TransGrid's IT infrastructure from end-to-end, via a 3-year managed services agreement. This will include Account Management, Service Centre, End-User Computing, Centralised Computing, Desktop Virtualisation Infrastructure, Security Management, Project Delivery, GIS Applications Support, Applications and Software-as-a-Service Support and Transition services.
